ROCK WORK:
We work with a variety of stone to produce dry stack stone walls, patios, walkways, accent boulders and edging.
Stack Stone Walls: Stack stone walls are
made of generally flat stones in scale with the project. Bigger projects demand larger stones. Walls that
are used as occasional pathways for maintenance also require larger stones.

Patios: Patios are mostly constructed out of flag stone and laid in soil(for plants) granite sand or
tinted cement. Stones are 1.5-2.0 inches thick unless the cement is used.
Patios and walkways can also be constructed from the same type of stones as are used on the walls.
This gives a more natural, aged and rustic affect.

Walkways: Walkways are installed with either
irregular shaped flagstone
or square sections of flagstone.
The stones are thick 1.5-2.0 inches to resist movement.
Boulders: Boulders are
used mostly as accents but can be used as an informal naturalistic wall. Size is determined by the scale of
the landscape, cost and the ability to get the stone to the desired location. These boulders are placed to look
as if they are part of
a granite out crop or as accents. They can also be used as an informal terrace to highlight focal plants.

Stones: Stones are also used to direct rain run off and as dry creek beds. These can be simply
functional or used in concert with the garden design. Elaborate or simple they add to the landscape immensely.
